Privacy
Beta version. This page will be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
Your writing
Your account, stories, chapters, characters and settings are stored in Inkly's database (Supabase). Database rules make sure only you can read or change your work. People you invite with a Reader Key can read a story you share — never edit it. You can download all your work from Settings at any time.
Closing your account
You can close your account any time in Settings. Your account and everything in it — stories, chapters, story bible, versions, feedback, community posts, notifications and settings — are removed for good. Download your work first if you want to keep it.
One person, one account
To keep Inkly fair and safe, each browser gets a random id, and when you sign up or sign in we note the device and network you use. We never store the id or your IP address itself — only a scrambled fingerprint that cannot be turned back into them. It is used only to limit how many accounts one device or network can create, and to help our moderators stop abuse. Fingerprints older than a year are erased.
Files you import
Word, text, Markdown and HTML files are read inside your browser. They are not uploaded anywhere.
Fonts and hosting
The website itself is served by our hosting provider, which may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and time of visit).
